TÜV Nederland carries out coach inspections for Flixbus

A Flixbus inspection.

In December 2018, TÜV Nederland was awarded a contract for 2019 by long-distance coach service provider Flixbus Benelux. Flixbus is keen to offer services with a high level of quality, which is why inspectors from TÜV Nederland are going to be at the departure point of Sloterdijk in Amsterdam. Here, they inspect the coaches in respect of safety and for damage, which constitutes the focal point of monthly checks of the buses. Amsterdam Sloterdijk is a major hub in short- and long-haul transport and one of the largest railway stations in the Netherlands, as well as being the second busiest in Amsterdam – a perfect starting point for TÜV NORD.

Job van der Zwart, head of TÜV NORD Mobilität’s profit Centre in the Netherlands, and Ralph Dollenberg, International Business Development Manager, have also drawn the attention of Flixbus to the possibility of “remote inspection” using the LiveExpert system. This option is currently being discussed internally by the customer as a possible next step. As a result of customer satisfaction, the number of inspections allocated to TÜV NORD is to be increased. Ingo Albes, head of Business Development Europe, adds: “As Flixbus is increasingly becoming an international player, it’s going to be very exciting to see if we can extend our services to other countries this year.”
