TÜV NORD Egypt signs contract with Pharaonic Petroleum Company

TÜV NORD Egypt certified PhPC in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Pharaonic Petroleum Company (PhPC), a joint venture of BP and the Egyptian Oil and Gas Authority, has commissioned TÜV NORD Egypt with third-party inspections worldwide outside Egypt. PhPC is responsible for oil and gas production in the Ras El Bar concession in Egypt’s Nile Delta.

TÜV NORD Egypt has already certified PhPC in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. It will now be responsible for carrying out inspections of all imported materials and equipment for the new PhPC project. The contract package will run until July 2020.

For TÜV NORD Egypt, the order represents a major success: “The project will open doors for us to other third-party inspection projects in the oil and gas field,” says Ahmed Marei – Managing Director of TUV NORD Egypt. Ahmed Marei sees the project overall as a good example of cooperation at the international level between several subsidiaries, including the project management team for Bid Approval & Controlling which is based in Germany and managed by Dr Christoph Wasserfuhr.
