6th German-Latin American Energy Conference in Mexico City

Raul Mitre, Managing Director of TÜV NORD Mexico, was invited to participate as a speaker.

Since its energy market reforms in 2014, Mexico has been subject to particular scrutiny. These reforms have not only brought more private investment into oil and gas exploration but also liberalised the electricity market, triggering a wave of renewable energy projects in the country, above all in the wind, small hydro and solar power sectors.

Raul Mitre, Managing Director of TÜV NORD Mexico, was invited to participate as a speaker in the sixth in a series of German-Latin American Energy Conferences in Mexico City – a high-level forum for round table discussions and networking between German energy companies and their Latin American and Caribbean counterparts, clients and partners, which is also attended by representatives of government and administration. This high-level Energy Conference, which is an invitation-only round table event, provides a forum for market participants from both sides of the Atlantic to share their experience and expertise on these issues, broaden their networks and develop concrete joint business proposals. Taking part were some 60 participants from the German energy sector and their counterparts from Mexico and the region. Raul Mitre himself took part in Panel 4 and put the case for why skilled workers are an indispensable resource for an energy transition.

In a nutshell, TÜV NORD Mexico expects to participate in more of these high level conferences as a means to positioning the brand in the energy market.
