Innovative communication channel: TÜV NORD launches digital magazine

Hanover/Hamburg: #explore ( is the name of the new magazine of the TÜV NORD GROUP. In cooperation with the TEMPUS CORPORATE agency from the “Zeit” publishing house, the Corporate Communications division has developed a journalistic format for the Internet to allow it to explain the issues and trends in the Group even more fully to the general public. Reports, portraits and interviews offer insights into the TÜV NORD world of today and tomorrow. And the focus is on Industry 4.0 and the issue of security at a time in which networking is gathering pace.

Digital magazines are drivers of innovation in external communications because they create plenty of room for new concepts and entertain the readers, not just with text and images but also with visual content and playful elements,” says Sven Ulbrich, Director of Corporate Communications at the TÜV NORD GROUP.

The online magazine is to be offered in German and English and has a responsive design. In the first edition, users can explore the role of TÜV NORD behind the scenes of the new studio of German news programme “die Tagesschau”, and find out about the intentions of “good hackers”, how networked vehicles will in future respond early to hazards, and why brain-jogging products are a waste of time. New content will be added every month; what’s more, the magazine will be flexible enough to pick up on current events, and topic categories can be disseminated via social media. "With the implementation of this online magazine in collaboration with TEMPUS CORPORATE, we’re going to intensify the impact of our business card on the net and support our social media output,” emphasises Sven Ulbrich.

“Working with the Corporate Communications department of TÜV NORD to develop this new format was a very positive challenge,” says Jan Hawerkamp, general manager of TEMPUS CORPORATE. “With #explore we’re going to be able to use journalistic formats to make the exciting and technologically remodelled world of tomorrow into a tangible experience. This will allow TÜV NORD to communicate its expertise in various fields to the users,” says Chris Höfner, Director of Digital Media at TEMPUS CORPORATE.
