In Oman’s capital Muscat the Municipality Contact Centre has successfully been certified according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard by TÜV Middle East. Basheer Al Salem, TÜV NORD Middle East Country Manager – Oman, handed over the certificate to H.E. Eng. Mohsen Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Muscat Municipality.

The Muscat Municipality is an administrative centre for the greater Muscat region with all duties from services for individuals and companies. The contact centre itself, with its 35 staff, is the interface between the authority and its customers for any observations on the part of the latter, and for complaints or inquiries regarding specific services. The contact centre has the infrastructure to support and handle all calls from customers, through first-line and second-line support and back-office support.

According to Manoj Shetty, Deputy Vice President of TÜV Middle East, a further strategic goal is to expand the company’s services into Oman. “This certification shows that the authorities have a great deal of trust in us,” adds Basheer Al Salem. His branch office has issued more than 300 certificates since its establishment in 2014: its customers include governmental and semi-governmental institutions as well as companies from different industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation and the food industry, to name but a few.
