Over 90 participants from around the world gathered in Athens for the 3rd Certification Days under the slogan “Citius, Altius, Fortius – faster, higher, stronger”.

“The meeting is following the chosen path of implementing the digitalisation and innovation developments, also in concert with the accreditation authorities, with the aim of satisfying customer requirements in the age of Industry 4.0. It’s the standards concerning digitalisation and functional safety in particular that we need to offer in an internationally recognised form,” says Dr Klaus Oberste Lehn, who, as the event sponsor, sent out the invitations.

This year’s Certification Days started in thoroughly digital fashion with an online welcoming address from Dr Dirk Stenkamp, Chairman of the Board of Management of the TÜV NORD GROUP, who addressed the participants on the significance of the accreditation/regulation and Security4Safety issues and the importance of good cooperation with official bodies such as DAkkS and VdTÜV.

Keynote speakers Dr Stephan Finke, Managing Director of the German accreditation body (DAkkS), Dr Joachim Bühler, Managing Director of the VdTÜV, and Nils Schröder, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the certification offices of the Industrial Services business unit, praised the quality of the international exchange and the expertise evident in the specialist lectures, which were in all cases delivered by representatives of the German and international certification business.

The Certification Days also offered a forum for discussions of the accreditation and regulation management issues in the Industrial Services business unit. The representatives of the certification body will also in the future be responsible for these twin issues for the harmonisation of implementation within the companies.

"The Certification Days have become established as an integral part of quality assurance within TÜV NORD CERT and, thanks to BOLD MOVE, now also serve as a forum for the international exchange of experience beyond all the individual OBS,” says Kim-Julia Zamljen, organiser of the event.
