The Institute of Vehicle Technology and Mobility (IFM) of TÜV NORD Mobilität (TNM) is using its testing expertise in the growing South American business in support of the TÜV NORD Mobiltät profit centre within BRTÜV in Sao Paulo / Brazil. BRTÜV has been accredited by the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), which is responsible for the definition and traceability of applied product and testing standards in Brazil.

With this BRTÜV INMETRO accreditation, TÜV NORD Mobilität is permitted to test and certify a range of products in line with INMETRO requirements. Here, the relevant manufacturers are offered shared technical support from Germany and from Brazil in their efforts to provide evidence of conformity with INMETRO requirements, covering everything from the raising of documents and the testing process all the way through to final certification.

The IFM in Essen is in this respect an important global bridgehead for market access in Brazil in the fields of certification for wheels, tyres and suspension components. The testing laboratory, accredited according to ISO 17025, is accordingly an important starting point in this approvals process for European customers seeking to do business in Brazil. The INMETRO reaccreditation audit of the TNM profit centre within BRTÜV in Sao Paulo came to a successful conclusion at the end of 2017. This marks a major success for the teams under Fábio da Silva, Carsten Burchard and Jörg Colling.
