A Delegation from Korea's KOTSA payed a visit to a TÜV STATION in Dresden.
TÜV NORD Mobilität and Korea’s KOTSA are seeking to intensify their cooperation. Its new president Byung Yoon Kwon (4th from right) visited the Dresden East TÜV NORD STATION during a delegates’ tour and garnered some persuasive first-hand experience of German expertise. Ralph Dollenberg and Ingo Albes from the International division accompanied the six-strong delegation and put the adapter for periodic vehicle testing through its paces in a practical test. Exchanges of information on its use took place alongside discussions on further cooperation with CITA and FSD.
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KOTSA) is responsible for road safety on behalf of the Korean Government. In autumn, the authority joined forces with the Gyeonggi Hwasung Automobile Safety Research Institute and the Seoul Sangam Automobile Inspection Center to put on the International Automobile Inspection Seminar at its headquarters in Gimcheon, Korea. Among the 100-plus guests were Ingo Albes and Andreas Klocke from TÜV NORD Mobilität, alongside FSD (Fahrzeugsystemdaten GmbH) and test equipment manufacturer Maha.
KOTSA is seeking to rise to the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution in vehicle testing and aspires for Korea to be the second country in the world after Germany to introduce a PTI adapter for the testing of electronic vehicle components. The agenda for the seminar included dialogue on effective testing methods. TÜV NORD Mobilität is assisting in the transfer of this knowledge and believes that the cooperation will give rise to long-term opportunities in Korea.
