TÜV NORD Czech organised a two-day meeting for more than 130 system certification clients in the Dolní Morava resort in the north eastern part of the country. “We are proud that representatives from very important clients attended the meeting, like ŠKODA AUTO, Slovnaft, Žďas and Doosan Škoda Power, to name but a few,” says Jiří Panáček, Manager of the System Certification Division at TÜV NORD Czech. The main topics at this year’s event were the evaluation of the transition of certification according to IATF 16949:2016, TISAX and the transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001.

“The goal of such regular meetings isn’t only to provide information about new developments in the area of legislative and normative requirements but also to thank all the clients for their cooperation with us,” says Mr Panáček. This year has been special, not just because the meeting was jointly organised with TÜV NORD Slovakia, but also because it was the jubilee year marking 150 years of TÜV NORD.

The System Certification division of TÜV NORD Czech generates more than 30 percent of the total revenue. “The certification business is therefore an important pillar of our company,” says Mr Panáček. “It’s both an honour and a cause of great satisfaction that there are customers who have been loyal to us since the early days of our company.” Among them are TOS Kuřim and ŠKODA AUTO.

Another company that has been an important TÜV NORD Czech client for a long time is the Czech branch office of Siemens. This is a very good example of how business develops over a long period of time. Its first quality management system certificate was issued in 2001, followed by environmental, occupational health and safety management system certificates in 2005. The Czech Siemens branch represents most of the operating companies of the Siemens Group in the Czech Republic and ensures that processes are implemented for them. Since its foundation in 1990, the company has evolved from arranging direct business by order of Siemens AG into its present-day form, in which the operating companies mainly conduct their own business. 18 years after the initial certification, the company now employs about 7,500 experts and other workers, almost 3,000 of whom are covered by management system certification provided by TÜV NORD. “This year, we’ve even managed to grow our collaboration further due to the division of the original certification of Siemens’ integrated management system between two legal entities – Siemens and Siemens Mobility,” explains Mr Panáček. Moreover, Siemens has applied for the new certification of the Information Safety Management System according to ISO 27001.
