Board of Management

Dr Dirk Stenkamp (born in 1962) earned his Ph.D. in physics in 1994. Following further work in science and professional experience, including as a Board of Management member at Carl Zeiss SMT AG and as a Board of Management member and Chief Operating Officer at centrotherm photovoltaics AG, Blaubeuren, in 2013 Stenkamp joined the Board of Management at TÜV NORD AG.

Dirk Stenkamp has been a visiting professor at Shanghai Maritime University since 2014 and is an appointed member of the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS.

Dr Astrid Petersen (born in 1968) studied physics at the Justus-Liebig University in Gießen and was awarded her doctorate in experimental physics in 1998. Having occupied various professional and management positions at Siemens, Framatome and GNS Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service, she joined the TÜV NORD GROUP in 2016, first as Managing Director of the energy sector, and later as Business Unit Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Industrial Services division. On 1 January 2021, she was appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer and Labour Director at TÜV NORD AG.

Astrid Petersen is deputy chair of the Supervisory Board of the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS).

Jürgen Himmelsbach (born in 1968) earned a degree in business administration at the University of the Saarland in Saarbrücken in 1994. After graduating, he took a position as Manager and Head of Auditing at KPMG Deutsche Treuhandgesellschaft, Aktiengesellschaft und Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Berlin. He joined the Board of Management staff of the listed Berliner Elektro Holding AG in 1998 and in 2001 joined TÜV NORD AG as its Divisional Director of Finance. Jürgen Himmelsbach is a member of the Financing, Accounting and Taxes Working Group of Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft e.V.
