Companies will benefit from ISO revisions in 2026
Hanover/Essen/Hamburg: TÜV NORD GROUP has once again been honoured with the EcoVadis platinum medal. This puts the Group among the top 1 per cent of sustainable companies.
The award recognises the outstanding sustainability performance of TÜV NORD GROUP. "I am very pleased about that. Even though sustainability is part of TÜV NORD's DNA, it is not a matter of course. Every day, many colleagues around the world work to improve our sustainability performance. I would like to thank all for this effort," says Ringo Schmelzer, COO of TÜV NORD AG.
EcoVadis evaluates companies based on their sustainability performance in four main categories: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. This assessment is based on international standards and includes a variety of criteria relating to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. “The analysis by EcoVadis is an important indicator for us to gain impetus for the further development of our sustainability management. If our sustainability performance increases, this has a number of positive side effects. Processes become more efficient and potential risks in the supply chain can be reduced,” says Ronja Schmidt, Corporate Responsibility Manager at TÜV NORD AG.
Last year, the TÜV NORD GROUP's company score rose from 82 points in 2024 to 88 points in 2025. "We were able to improve in the areas of the environment and labour and human rights. The implementation of sustainability-related certifications in TÜV NORD companies in Germany and abroad contributed significantly to this success. These include environmental management in accordance with ISO 14001 and energy management in accordance with ISO 50001," says Ronja Schmidt.
The platinum medal is already the sixth medal that TÜV NORD has received from EcoVadis. TÜV NORD started with a silver medal, followed by three gold EcoVadis medals and last year the first platinum medal. EcoVadis is the world's leading platform for evaluating companies based on clear sustainability criteria; a total of around 150,000 companies from 180 countries.
