Kooperation von TÜV NORD EnSys und Atmen
In future, operators will be able to check whether hydrogen production meets the criteria to be classified as sustainable or green during the development of their project: TÜV NORD EnSys GmbH & Co. KG and the Munich-based tech start-up Atmen are now jointly offering the H2 Compliance Monitor. The software solution is designed to give project developers an initial assessment of whether they meet the criteria of the EU's Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) and can therefore obtain the corresponding certification. By simulating energy flows and CO2 intensity along the entire value chain, it predicts whether the planned production already complies with EU regulations or what the path to an optimized supply chain could look like. An H2 compliance monitor report is generated from this. The digital tool is intended to promote trust between customers, partners, public authorities and investors at an early stage of project development.
The cooperation between the two partners combines Atmen's technological solution with the technical expertise of TÜV NORD EnSys. TÜV NORD EnSys has contributed to the development of the H2 Compliance Monitor methodology and also offers customized certification roadmaps and detailed energy simulations. This approach is designed to provide project developers with a comprehensive strategy to meet the EU criteria for their product.
Flore de Durfort, CEO of Atmen, explains: “In our collaboration with TÜV NORD EnSys, we offer our customers a sophisticated simulation, screening and optimization tool. This is an important step in our efforts to reduce the manual workload of our customers. This collaboration enables our customers to better understand regulatory requirements, optimize their projects in terms of sustainability, build trust and accelerate the path of projects to the final investment decision (FID).”
Silvio Konrad, CEO of TÜV NORD EnSys, emphasizes: “By working together with Atmen and pooling our expertise, we support customers in the development of hydrogen projects from the early stages through to operational implementation. Our partnership makes it possible to use technology in such a way that compliance with sustainability criteria and possible certification are directly considered in the development phase of projects. It's about reducing the risk of projects by building confidence in their sustainability.”
