TÜV NORD has acquired the EPI Group, one of the world’s largest providers of audit, certification and training services for data centers. As of 24 October 2025, the acquisition has been successfully completed. This move strengthens TÜV NORD's position in the rapidly growing market of digital infrastructures, enabling it to support customers worldwide in achieving the highest standards of availability, security, and sustainability in data center operations.

The EPI Group has both a direct and indirect presence in multiple geographical locations like Asia-Pacific, Latin America, USA/Canada, Europe, Middle East and Africa. With an extensive network of resellers, audit and training partners, the EPI Group is already successfully operating in 60 countries worldwide.
Founded in 1987, EPI is now one of the globally recognised market leaders in the rapidly growing data centre solutions industry. The company is recognised for its expertise in auditing and certifying data center infrastructures based on international standards such as ANSI/TIA-942, ISO/IEC 22237 and EN 50600. EPI has developed its own certification programme, Data Centre Operations Standards (DCOS), for the operation of data centers. With the acquisition of EPI, TÜV NORD is expanding its digital infrastructure portfolio, combining EPI's deep sectorial experience with its own global network and technical expertise. This will benefit enterprises, public authorities and colocation/hyperscale providers worldwide who need to meet increasing regulatory requirements as well as demands for high availability and physical security.
