TÜV NORD becomes official environmental partner of Hannover 96”

TÜV NORD and Hannover 96 have launched an environmental partnership. The cooperation focuses on determining the CO2 footprint at home matches of the professional team and all club activities of Hannover 96. The declared aim of both partners is to implement joint measures based on the results in order to continuously improve the CO2 balance.

TÜV NORD CEO Dirk Stenkamp: “Hannover 96 is already doing a lot in the area of sustainability. The club is aware of its role model function. We would like to support the goal of offering spectators a safe and at the same time environmentally friendly visit to the stadium with our combined expertise. Determining the CO2 footprint is an important step that we want to take together.”

Numerous starting points for improvements are already being discussed at Hannover 96, including the use of renewable energies, intelligent waste reduction and CO2-reduced travel to and from home matches for fans. Measures that have already been initiated are to be expanded on and new concepts developed for these topics.

TÜV NORD is based right on our doorstep in Hanover, so it knows the local people and, of course, our club. The company also operates worldwide and can therefore contribute exciting perspectives and, above all, a great deal of expertise to our processes. There is a lot on our joint agenda.”

Another focus of the cooperation between TÜV NORD and Hannover 96 is children's and youth sport. TÜV NORD is also involved in the “96-Talents+Friends” soccer school.
