TÜV NORD is expanding its testing laboratory for batteries, electrical equipment and household appliances, strengthening its position as one of the leading providers of testing and certification services in Indonesia.

TÜV NORD Indonesia’s testing laboratory for batteries, electronics and household goods in Jakarta is being expanded to create new testing capacities and tap into new market segments. “This strategic investment will further consolidate our position as a leading provider of testing and certification services in Indonesia,” says Managing Director Herdiansyah. “It will enable us to capitalise on the opportunities arising from the growing demand for high-quality and reliable testing.”
TÜV NORD Indonesia launched its laboratory business in 2008, offering food testing and calibration services. In 2015 after moving to the state of the art building, the laboratory added new services including the areas of food, environmental, feed, pharmaceutical and cosmetics: microbiological, nutritional and chemical analyses, water testing, shelf life and stability testing, mineral and heavy metal testing are all available. Two years ago, the laboratory’s activities were expanded to include electrical, mechanical and environmental testing such as Lithium battery transport testing in accordance with UN 38.3, as well as building material, packaging testing and metal food tray.
TÜV NORD Indonesia employs around 300 people. The most important fields of activity include certification and testing services for the industry. Another important business area is sustainability.
