TÜV NORD GROUP relies on its own AI assistance TÜV NORD GPT

The TÜV NORD GROUP has just introduced the text-based AI assistant TÜV NORD GPT. It is able to capture natural communication and respond to it in a way that is human-like. With similar features to Open AI's ChatGPT Model 4, TÜV NORD GPT uses the same technology in the background. The key difference is that TÜV NORD GPT is operated securely in the TÜV NORD GROUP's European Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This ensures data protection and prevents sensitive company data from being unintentionally disclosed to third parties.

The TÜV NORD GROUP is thus relying on its extensive expertise in the field of artificial intelligence. For years, the Group's employees have been supporting companies and institutions in safely advancing this innovative technology and testing AI systems. With the introduction of the new assistant, the TÜV NORD GROUP is using the advantages of artificial intelligence to further optimize its productivity. TÜV NORD GPT offers a wide range of possible applications, for example automatically summarizing extensive documents, supporting research or creating service descriptions.  To do this, the software uses company data that Open AI does not have access to. The TÜV NORD GROUP's IT experts are continuously developing their own AI assistance.

Our TÜV NORD GPT enables us to supplement, expand and network our knowledge and thus work even more efficiently,” says Dr. Dirk Stenkamp, Chairman of the Board of Management of TÜV NORD AG. “Our approach as a TÜV company is to make new technologies accessible for mass use by testing them and thus supporting safety. New technologies such as the generative AI GPT, which convince us and can be used safely, we also use ourselves,” Dr. Stenkamp continues.

TÜV NORD GPT was developed in cooperation with the IT service provider MaibornWolff and is a further step in the use of artificial intelligence for the TÜV NORD GROUP. Among other things, the Group has introduced voize, an innovative and user-friendly voice documentation system for the general inspection of vehicles.
