TÜV NORD subsidiary ALTER honoured for cooperation in laser technology

ALTER, a subsidiary of the TÜV NORD GROUP, has been honoured with the SIDEL Supplier Award for Innovation. The award ceremony took place at the SIDEL Supplier Day in Bologna and honours the cooperation with ALTER at the Livingston site in Scotland.

ALTER has developed state-of-the-art laser modules for SIDEL. These modules play a crucial role in SIDEL's new EvoBLOW laser system. The technology is revolutionising the PET packaging industry by enabling precise and efficient heating of plastic preforms before they are formed into bottles. This enhances moulding accuracy and process control.

ALTER's laser modules offer significant advantages over conventional halogen lamps. They enable more precise process control as they work more precisely and without warm-up time. They are also colour-independent, which facilitates the processing of recycled rPET and reduces material consumption by around 10%. This innovation helps SIDEL to offer sustainable packaging solutions. The laser modules are an integral part of the laser ovens that SIDEL provides to its customers worldwide.
