TÜV NORD supports the BSKI in protecting critical infrastructures

The collaboration is intended to further strengthen critical infrastructures and protect them from attacks. TÜV NORD brings extensive expertise to this partnership, including in the field of physical security.
“The protection of critical infrastructures is of crucial importance for the stability and security of our society. We are pleased that we can advance the work of the BSKI with our many years of knowledge, especially in the area of secure data centers,” says Lars Wilke, Lead Expert Physical Security of Infrastructures at TÜV NORD. TÜV NORD has been testing and evaluating the availability of physical infrastructures, i.e. the ability of these infrastructures to continuously and reliably fulfill their intended function, for more than 20 years. Interdisciplinary teams consisting of specialists such as civil engineers, electrical engineers, process engineers, physicists, computer scientists and architects ensure comprehensive testing and assessment. TÜV NORD has also developed its own best practices for ensuring availability, which have been expanded in the TSI.STANDARD requirements catalog for over 20 years.
Since its foundation in 2018, the BSKI has been the central point of contact for decision-makers in the field of critical infrastructures and promotes dialog between politics, business and science. Together with leading industry experts and authorities, the BSKI supports institutions of all sizes with targeted concepts for prevention, response and postvention. “We are delighted to welcome TÜV NORD as a strong partner in our association. TÜV NORD's interdisciplinary security expertise will be a valuable addition to our efforts to protect critical infrastructure,” says Jani Nakos, BSKI Board Member.
The partnership will enable both organizations to design and implement security strategies for critical infrastructures and thus make an important contribution to security in Germany.
